J-PAL
I was commissioned to photograph a J-PAL (The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab) event, an organization dedicated to reducing poverty through evidence-based research and policy. It was an opportunity to capture not only the proceedings of the day, but also the people and stories behind the work—the researchers, policymakers, and community voices that drive meaningful change.
Through my lens, I aimed to highlight the energy of the gathering, the exchange of ideas, and the shared commitment to creating impact at scale. Each frame was a reminder that beyond data and research lie human connections and real-world transformations.
This assignment resonated with my philosophy of photography: to document not just what is happening, but why it matters—revealing the humanity within institutions, ideas, and collective efforts toward a better world.
