The Loyal Workshop
I had the privilege of photographing The Loyal Workshop, a social enterprise in Kolkata that empowers women who have survived exploitation and human trafficking. Their workshop is more than just a place of work—it is a space of dignity, healing, and new beginnings. Through my photography, I wanted to honor the strength of these women, capturing not just the products they create but the resilience and hope woven into every piece.
What struck me most was the spirit of community within the workshop—the laughter shared, the bonds formed, and the pride in crafting something beautiful and meaningful. Each frame became a reflection of their journey from hardship to empowerment, a story of courage told through light and shadow.
For me, this commission was not only about documenting a brand but about amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. It aligns with my philosophy of photography: to use the camera as a bridge between people and stories, to reveal the humanity behind the work, and to create images that inspire connection and change.
